Since being established in 2005, the Institute has grown to become the UK’s largest and most networked academic capability in nuclear R&D and higher learning. It provides world-leading applied research to support government, regulators and industry in the delivery of nuclear energy across the globe.
We are committed to enhancing the public understanding of nuclear science and engineering by engaging with a range of audience groups as an independent, objective source of expertise. Our science communication work extends across interactions with the media, schools and museums.
